The Midnight Ponder Playlist is the most important in my personal life.

Each year, this playlist becomes my most touched, edited and in many ways, a comforting friend in my most vulnerable moments. Like each year I have been doing this, this playlist is the largest among my specialty categories and contains so many of the songs which will also appear on my Top 100 overall.

Yes, “LIFE ON EARTH” by Hurray for the Riff Raff was my favorite Midnight Ponder song of 2022. With its strength in simplicity and alluring vocal performance from Alynda Segura, I can’t help but be emotional when writing about this song always.

With contributions from Angel Olsen, Alabaster DePlume, Alela Diane, The Delines, Obongjayar, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Nick Cave in my Top 25, this year’s Midnight Ponder is stacked with talent.
