…Otherwise it was either “Songs About Jane” by Maroon 5 (still honestly a great album) or a Greatest Hits of Aerosmith CD.


…We'd go to Aerosmith and Bruce Springsteen concerts - but, one of the coolest things was that we would sometimes go to this restaurant in Cleveland called Fat Fish Blues, where Robert Lockwood Jr. had a residency in his later years.

Lockwood is the only person who learned to play guitar directly from Robert Johnson.... I WAS SO LUCKY AND HAD NO IDEA, WHAT I WOULD GIVE TO BE IN THAT ROOM WATCHING HIM PLAY RIGHT NOW. All of that is to say my mom is cool!


…I don't think I particularly have tried to emulate his sound, but the energy and rawness of his performances just caught me, really showed me the power of folk music!





… It kind of started as a way to practice - in order to share tunes I had to be good enough to perform them - and I still do that as I learn how to fiddle.
